Pocono Mountains Summer Guide

While the Pocono Mountains are a year round travel destination, one of our favorite times to visit is during the summer months! Check out the list below for some of our favorite things to do in the Pocono Mountains during the summer.

CamelBeach Mountain Waterpark

During the summer months in the Poconos, Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark is a must visit for families with children.  Camelbeach is the biggest water park in Pennsylvania and offers over 37 rides and attractions.  Kids will love the interactive family play zones with sprinklers, spray guns, waterslides, and a giant bucket. For the more adventurous, Camelbeach offers thrill rides including The Vortex bowl slide and a six story tall body slide called the Triple Venom.

Lakes

One of our favorite things about the summer in the Pocono Mountains is the many lakes! There are many water recreation activities to try such as white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, jet skiing, and tubing that are popular on the Pocono Mountain lakes.  Not interested in water sports? Try a scenic boat tour or relax lakeside and enjoy the beautiful natural backdrop that the Poconos provides.

Adventure Parks

The Pocono Mountains are home to multiple adventure parks including the Summit Aerial Park at Blue Mountain Resort, Adventure Center at Skytop Lodge, and Blue Lighting at Fernwood Resort. These family friendly adventure parks are a great way to try something new and experience the natural beauty of the Poconos. With courses designed for multiple experience levels, there is no reason not to try zip lining or an aerial ropes course. Blue Lightning is an all season tubing facility that allows visitors to experience the fun of snow tubing year round!

The Crossings Premium Outlets

Shoppers will love to visit the Crossings Premium Outlets. Located in the Pocono Mountains the Crossings Premium Outlets features over 100 designer and brand name outlet stores.

Bushkill Falls

Known as the Niagara of Pennsylvania, Bushkill Falls is a must see when visiting the Pocono Mountains.  Enjoy the natural beauty of the main waterfalls from the primary observation deck or try one of the hiking trails. With multiple hiking trails of varying difficultly levels, you will be able to view the eight waterfalls from many different vantage points.  Bushkill Falls also features activities for children such as a mining company maze and mining for gemstones where kids can learn how to be a gold miner for the day.
